Sneak Peek

Here's a sneak peek from yesterday's maternity photo shoot.  April Szabo Photography

Road Trip

This past weekend we took a road trip out to Meadow Vista for a family reunion. It was a beautiful drive through Lotus and Auburn along winding roads and green rolling hills lined with oak trees. The kids had a blast swimming and playing. This was a nice little pit stop along the North Fork of the American River.

Pinewood Derby

Jacob's car won 5th out of 10.

Six Flags!

Well I am so excited because this year we bought season passes to Six Flags. I usually like to take the kids once every year or every other, but always feel like we need more than one day to fit it all in. I love owning season passes because now I don't feel rushed to get there right as the park opens and try to "do it all." Forrest had to work and was not able to go with us this time around, but we'll be back soon.

petting the stingrays.

these penguins were so cute.

Kaitlyn had a *blast* on the swings, especially the 2nd time around.

there were lots of rides for the smaller kids to go on.

Shark Experience.

Anthony was in-awe.

These big suckers are a novelty, and the only thing we purchased in the park that day.

Sisters. *Love*

This playground was the best, because I was able to let Anthony work off some of the antsy energy he  had worked up from sitting in the stroller.  It was pretty much the only safe place where I could let him out, and all the kids loved it.

Yosemite Trip

Lower Yosemite Falls, right outside our room.
checking in.
Forrest trying out his new binoculars.
Me enjoying the sunshine (and a break from walking.)
The view that had me captivated.
We are getting good at these self-portraits.
This was our 3rd annual Yosemite trip together. We both really look forward to it each year. This year was a little different with me lugging the twins around, so we didn't do much hiking, but I *really* enjoyed lying in this valley looking up at the sky. The clouds were beautiful, and though not as warm as before, the incoming storm made for some eccentric weather. We had dinner at our usual favorite place, The Mountain Room, and though I ordered a steamed artichoke and salad (I was craving veggies,) I couldn't help myself from taking bites of Forrest's New York steak. I totally enjoyed my slice of mud pie all to myself back at the room. :) We left a little early on the second day to do some shopping. The drive home was beautiful, and Forrest treated me to some new shoes and maternity clothes. I love our escapades. Yosemite, as always, you were good to us.

Easter

This was the day after we got back from Yosemite. We assembled Easter baskets, colored eggs, had an indoor hunt (it was raining) and hosted family dinner: roast beef, mashed potatoes, artichoke bread, glazed carrots, asparagus gratin, and coconut cream cake. We ended the night by putting the kids to bed and watching Les Mis with Tommy and Vera.
Daddy giving a tutorial on dying eggs.
