Announcing the News Here

For documentation's sake I thought I'd record the start of my journey into surrogacy.  Last week Forrest and I flew down to Pasadena for the embryo transfer, and 5 days later I got a positive result.  The process was quite neat, as we were able to watch the 5 day old embryos travel down the tube and into my uterus via the ultrasound screen.  We are so excited to be embarking on this journey... more to come. :)

  1. Summer is at my house and just told me the other night and my jaw just about hit the floor. It was not what I was expecting, but what an adventure. Have you had contact with Kyra? Things seemed to go well for her and there are only so many people who truly know what it is like to have a baby for someone else.

    1. I hesitated to share the news here because you just can't predict what people's reactions will be. I announced it on Facebook and was overwhelmed with the gracious comments and loving support of so many people. It has to be something Heavenly Father places on your heart, which he definitely has. The only experience that matters is our own. Yes, I have talked to Kyra. She's the one who inspired me. :)

  2. I can't wait to hear all about it along the way. I'm soooo excited for you and a tad jealous. I had tried to do it years ago after I had bella and did all the paper work and traveled to the bay area and even was chosen by a special couple but in the end I didn't realize I had forgotten to mention something about myself that made it so NO insurance would work with me. The couple tried to find loop holes but there were none. Your family is going to be blessed. I love you so much xo

    1. Amy that is so wonderful! I had no idea!! You know the more I talk about it the more I come across women who have positive thoughts about and experiences with surrogacy. :) I won't be documenting much of the process here but give me your e-mail and I will send you an invite to my private blog. Love and miss you too!!
