Goose Update

Well, I've had 3 days of running with no problem from the geese. Today I took Ashlee around the lake with me (just in case... she's fearless and will chase off an entire flock!) and she nearly stepped on a mama goose laying on a nest of eggs. She didn't realize it was there until it hissed at her. And, we spotted the first flock of little gosslings! Their proud parents were leading them down to the water. They are so cute and fuzzy at this age, but they grow quickly. As I watched the mother goose sit on her nest, I thought what patience it must require to stay there all day and provide the body heat necessary for those little eggs to hatch. Then I thought of my own self, and how restless I sometimes get being a stay-at-home mommy and housewife. Nature follows the rhythm of life so easily. Why can't we all be so obedient? Why must we grow restless and weary? How hard is it to just sit patiently on our children until they hatch?
