A Day of Love

Dad came home with mother-daughter flowers. He also came bearing cards and Hotwheels for the little ones.
Ashlee loves when Dad gets her flowers, it's always a special treat. She set her rose up at her work station at the table to look at while she finished her math.
And for Dad- a new shirt and a year's supply of Jelly Bellys.
After getting the kids set up with dinner and a movie, Forrest and I headed out to check out a new (for us) restaurant in Folsom- Old Europe Bar and Grill. The atmosphere was casual, the food was excellent. He had fillet mignon with fingerling potatoes and asparagus, I had the grilled salmon with the most delicious spinach and potatoes. It really hit the spot. Our only disappointment was that I had purchased gift cards at Costco today specifically for the occassion, and when we went to pay our bill we were informed that they did not accept gift cards on holidays. So, we ended up paying cash and are now left with two $50 gift cards. What I thought was going to be a 50% off dinner ended up being a dinner at twice the cost! Guess that means we'll be going back.
